We had a lovely lunch all together - made a change not to go to The Rose!  There was almost a disaster as I forgot to put the pudding on to steam but Keith came to the rescue with his camping stove in the shed! He did a fabulous goose!

London at Christmas time!

Had a fab couple of days in London - managed to track down where some family were living in 1841 - at what was Greenwich Hospital, formerly a palace but then  residence for pensioned off seamen. My lot lived in the mews but this was the dining hall where my butlering ancestor would probably have toiled

I walked back from Greenwich and, as ever, the lights of a London continue to awe!

Christmas markets

Decided to visit the Lincoln Christmas market - great fun! Including a Mediaeval market in the Bishops House

Keith enjoyed visiting mum in hospital because it meant he could play in the car park!

I don't think I've ever seen quite so many spiders webs as on my morning walk today - they had obviously been out in force overnight!  Very pretty they were too!

Troy in Britain

I am firmly convinced by the argument that Troy is actually Wandlebury - there are just too many pointers to ignore.  I love it there!  Lots of fungi around at the moment too

Ickworth walled garden wildflower meadow

Went I Ickworth for the first time yesterday and the walled garden was an amazing surprise.  As well as the usual sections of vegetables there was this stunningly colourful wildflower meadow

Fabulous day at Woolfest where the sheep, alpaca and bunnies mixed and mingled with the humans to produce an amazing woolly exhibition!  Woolfest!  Never seen anything like it!  I bought up big! All the natural colours are for pullover for Pops

With all the walking I have been doing I have really worn out a pair of boots!  The soles are beginning to get threadbare and today I got the hole where the seam has split. It was 11miles today!

Went to London yesterday to catch up with Ian who is enjoying a holiday - lots of train knitting! These are the chunkiest socks yet - double knitting wool and very quick, when I have time to spare at appointments etc
